History speaks thru the blood of this extreme Welsh Cob Stallion. Apollo's pedigree is built on the tried and true lines of The Parc Stud, The Llanarth Stud and The Nebo Stud. It was a dream of Hope Ingersolls in the 1960s to re-introduce to America the largest version of the Welsh Breed, The Section D Welsh Cob.

Hope was at the time a breeder of the very popular Section A Welsh Mountain Ponies and thought that the larger Welsh Cob would fill a need for a good quality riding and driving horse and/or pony. With much research she brought to this country in the 1960's, two mares with foals at their side, and who were also confirmed in foal to two different and very influential Welsh Cob stallions. These subsequent foals became the center and foundation of the Penrhyn Stud. The Stallions that these mares were in foal to were, Parc Dafydd and Turkdean Cerdin. These mares LLanarth Dancing Satelite and Llanath Phillida produced Daffyd y Brenin Cymraeg and Turkdean Sword Dance. These mares and the lease of Nebo Fair Lady began a dynasty of very popular and competitive Welsh Cobs and Welsh Ponies of Cob Type.

It is with this history in mind, the many hours that I have spent with Hope Ingersoll as a friend and stud manager, the generosity of my friend Cornelia who put him in my care that I offer Quillane Apollo.

Please enjoy him!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Francis
